Four Spokane-area residents were killed and a fifth seriously injured near St. Regis, Montana, Saturday afternoon when the car in which they were struck a driveway approach, flipping end over end ejecting all five people in the car, the Montana State Patrol Reported.

Patrol Officer Jim Lommen said the car was eastbound on Interstate the 90 Camel's Hump detour a half mile west of St. Regis.

Lommen said the car apparently had passed several other vehicles at a high rate of speed and swerved to miss a bridge, causing it to strike the driveway abutment and flip several times, finally landing off the road.

The victims were Michelle Davis, 17, N. 9622 Edna; Alvin R. McCombs, 20, S. 5825 Cree Drive; Arthur C. Miller, 20, Route 2; James A. Lakoduk, 21, Mead. The bodies were taken to Geraghty Funeral Home in Missoula pending funeral arrangements.

A passenger, Loris Courtney, 16, Chattaroy, was reported still in critical condition this morning at St. Patrick's Hospital in Missoula with severe head injuries.
