Loris and I instantly became friends when she was new at Mead Junior High School.  She moved to the Mead School district before actually living in the area.  As luck would have it, her family ended up building a home out in the Big Meadows area, close to where I lived.  She also ended up riding the same school bus as my brothers and I did. That was in the day before all the kids were driving to school! Loris was always the more reserved of my friends, but once you got to know her, had a ton of personality.  Her and I shared many interests, especially horses and music.  In her last year of life, especially, Loris was absolutely blooming in beauty.  As my dad would say, "she was really coming into her own".  Unfortunately, Loris was prematurely taken from her family and friends in October 1979.  Loris, along with 4 others, were tragically killed in a car accident in St. Regis, Montana.  Many of the details surrounding the accident, if known, weren't ever shared with many of her friends.  Thus, leaving many questions unanswered.  For being a close friend of her's, I only knew one of the other people in the accident, Shelly Davis.  I didn't even know Loris to hang around with the others, or why they were in Montana!  I do know, over the years I think of "Beth" often and miss her deeply and wish she could be with us at our high school reunions.
