A grave mistake was brought to our attention this week. Listed in the "Memorial" section (complete with obituary) of our class web site was a former classmate, Larry Barrett. On Monday, we were informed by email (from Larry) that he is actually alive and well. Recently relocated from San Francisco, Larry currently lives in Chicago, and works for American Airlines. His email also informed us that he has a 24 year old son that resides in Spokane.
Upon receiving the news, we immediately removed Larry's name from the list, along with the obituary and responded to his email with a sincere apology.
We regret the oversight that has been made. Various resources and people (including classmates) are utilized to research and obtain such information. However, our volunteers are not equipped to access official or classified information that would ensure or validate the accuracy of submitted information. To Larry, his family and friends that may have been adversely effected by the error, please accept our sincerest apology.
Our committee still stands committed in the task of locating and accounting for each member of the Mead Class of 1981. Your assistance would be greatly appreciated. If you are in contact with fellow classmates, please refer them to our web site, or send us their contact information.
